Just sat down to watch the revamped version of Beverly Hills 90210. As you may or may not know, Mary and I are addicted to the original 90210. Thanks to DVR and the Soap Network, I’ve seen pretty much every post-college episode and most of the first season. Now I have a whole new version of the show to watch. I’ll make some updates of the show as commercial breaks allow.
UPDATE 1: They kept the intro music somewhat intact. I guess that’s good. Kelly Taylor (Jenni Garth) is all growns up and the guidance counselor at the high school where our main character, Annie and Dixon Wilson are attending. The Wilsons (not the Walshes) have just moved to Beverly Hills form Kansas.
Looks like they’re going big right off the bat with drug dealing…
UPDATE 2: The Peach Pit (and Joe E. Tata) are back. Nat needs to learn how to make espressos. The Peach Pit looks totally renovated – did Dylan McKay use some money to fix the place up since the last time we’ve seen it?
UPDATE 3: Sure Steve Sanders had a fake ID, but these kids getting into a bar and drinking red wine? Are you kidding. Hmm…I’m not so sure about this show.
UPDATE 4: “When dad talks to me after my lacrosse game, it’s like I’m a real kid. It’s like I’m not the adopted son anymore.” – might as well be what Dixon said.
UPDATE 5: Last update. Since this is a two-hour episode I’ll have written a novel if I keep writing about this new 90210. It doesn’t have the charm of the original. It really isn’t competing with the OC. I’ll give it a whirl and see what happens. At this point I’m a little disappointed. Of course, I’m not really their target demographic, so I’m sure the CW doesn’t mind.

Post-college? I thought 90210 ended while they were still in college? Well, not Dylan, try as he might, they wouldn’t let him back in.
They actually did let Dylan back in. He finished college during the last season
