Big Climb Seattle @ Columbia Center
On Sunday (March 22nd) Mary and I were driving into Seattle. I asked her, “Which building is the Columbia Tower?” To which she replied, “See the tallest one? That’s it.”
I swear the building kept growing as we got closer.
The event itself was well organized – especially considering the near mayhem on the ground floor and the volunteer workers being tasked with checking-in 6,000 people, then getting them into the staircases to climb.
That’s not really what you care about though, is it? You want to know how I did. Well, I didn’t get my 10 minute goal. That might have been a little ambitious. I was able to complete the climb in 12:38 (yeah, 12:38 even – couldn’t do that twice if I tried).
The more important number though, $525. That was the amount of money I (along with the help of many people reading this) was able to raise for leukemia and lymphoma research.
If you want to donate, you can still do so here.
Immediately following the climb I told Mary there was no way I would do it next year. Three days later my opinion has changed. It is a great cause and a great challenge. Plus, I have a 10 minute goal I need to accomplish
I am sooooooooooooo PROUD of you. Uncle Mike have yet to pledge you. To get ready for next year, you and Sean can do the stairs at Old Woodway High…It is in your back yard now Trevor. Sean can put you through a good training. That is how he trained for soccer. Landon did it one time and threw up…he is a whimp!!! You can do this next year….Accomplish your goals.
