I’m still a little surprised about the passing of an icon but I guess it was time for Michael Jackson to “Beat It”. Both Trevor and I have fond memories growing up and listening to MJ and trying to master the moonwalk. I can remember growing up and watching the Thriller video at Colin and Sean’s and getting nightmares about the zombies. When we were kids we also went to Epcot Center and saw Captain EO- I think that 3-D freaked Tyler and I out too.
Although his later years were a little rocky we will always remember him for his innovation and inspiration in music. Without him there wouldn’t be a Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey or even a Janet Jackson. Just reading the comments from his peers and even Quincy Jones made me a little teary this morning…maybe part of that is that I’m at work on a Friday, but still. He will be missed and be forever remembered at the King.
