Party Like It’s 1999

sw1

Trevor and I were lucky enough to go to my 10 Year High School Reunion from Shorewood High School in Shoreline, WA on Saturday night. Although the night started out a little slow, it turned out to be very fun and almost entertianing. The biggest surprise I had was how few people recognized me! Guess the brown hair really threw some people for a loop.

Trevor and I showed up at 5:30pm thinking that we would be fashionably late. How sadly we were mistaken when we realized we were the second ones to arrive. It probably wasn’t until 7 o’clock that the night really got underway and Club Hollywood really got going. Tons of old faces and new ones as well and very good to catch up and chat. Funny how so many people seem to still be in the area and we never seem to run into them.

Enjoyed eating dinner with Beth Hodson, Michelle (Webb) Sciascia, Brynn (Grimley) Graham and her husband Jeff….even though the entire meal was full of meat and seafood, leaving Trevor and I with sad dinner salads. There were door prizes, drama, a group photo and some dirty dancing that happened later in the night but all in all an eventful night. Great to see Bennett, Karissa, Katie Brown and finally meet Elliott’s wife, Angela. As the night went on more people that Trevor knew arrived and he had more people to chat with and have fun.

All in all, I think it was a great experience. Kinda weird seing gals pregant with their second child, way to go Camiguin, but overall exciting and fun. Can’t wait to see what unfolds at our 20 year Reunion but I’m sure most of us will be talking about the 10 year for a while!

Wedding Night Accomodations

hotel_xiseauth_room.jpg

Many of you have asked about where you should stay after the wedding and I’d love to share the lowdown. We have secured a rate at the Hotel Deca, where both the wedding ceremony and reception will be held, at $ 209 a night. If you are like Trevor and I and only want to have to take the elevator upstairs to find your bed this might be the best choice for you. When booking don’t forget to mention that you are reserving with the “Jezierski Wedding” to lock in this price. Parking will be free on site during the event and also to those with room reservations.
There are several other hotels in the University District that might also tickle your fancy as well. Other recommendations include: The Silver Cloud Inn University ($169/night), Watertown ($221/night), University Inn ($159/night) and the College Inn ($ 75/ night). Good luck and if you are planning on partying the night away please consider booking a room now rather than having to worry about it later.

And I thought shopping for my ring was an experience!

Wow, shopping for Trevor’s ring was like pulling teeth.  I knew from jewelry shopping and looking for my ring, Trevor wasn’t too keen on pushy sales people wanting you to make a huge purchase on a snap decision.  Nonetheless, I figured he would be excited to look for something that was only for him.  Boy was I wrong!  I had to beg him to go to the Shane Company, plead with him before he ran out to ask for assistance and urge him to just try something on.  Of course I love this guy to death but this has been an uneasy task.  You’d think it would be quite fun, especially since I’m paying for it!

Looks like we are looking at white gold bands that are brushed metal (not shiny) with some sort of band or change in texture in the middle.  No change in metals though, he’s not looking for a rose gold band in it!  If you have any ideas of where to go look on our second outing, helpful salespeople you’ve encountered in the Seattle or Portland areas, or any other advice it would be greatly appreciated!

having a male attendant in the bridal party?

By now I hope everyone has had a chance to visit our Wedding Party page and read all about our fabulous attendants. I’m sure some of you in scanning that list you saw Tyler Hanberg under Mary’s attendants and thought…wah? A male attendant in the bridal party? This can’t be! Well believe it.While this might not be the most common way of doing things, it is common enough that ehow.com wrote and article about it. They go step-by-step on how to involve the male attendant. One thing that is a little disappointing about the article, is that it is written in a manner that have a male attendant is crazy or something. It seems to me that at your wedding you should be able to do whatever you want. And if having a male attendant in the bridal party makes some people uncomfortable, well that’s just stupid. Beyond asking the attendant if he is comfortable being on the bride’s side – who else do you really need to involve? Nobody.
